What We Do

Cowgirls and Cocktails logoCowgirls Against Cancer is a 100% volunteer committee and grassroots fundraising effort that has raised approximately $500,000 in the past ten years to help women in the Pikes Peak region who are faced with the devastating disease of breast cancer. Funds raised stay right here in El Paso County and go toward the direct support of patients’ day to day needs while undergoing treatment.

Our annual event, Cowgirls and Cocktails, attracts over 500 women who come to support our cause, shop, eat, and enjoy specialty cocktails with their friends, co-workers, and neighbors. (See more about this year’s event on our event tab)

We continue to make a direct impact on the everyday lives of women in our community by providing funds to:

  • Penrose – St. Francis Health Systems and UC Health – Memorial Hospital for items such as wig vouchers that help them obtain a new wig that fits their individual style, lymphedema and post surgical camisoles that are not covered by insurance, cooling caps to help reduce hair loss during treatment, gas cards to get to treatment and much, much more…
  • Evans Army Hospital at Fort Carson – for informative and educational material for those serving our country
  • Peak Vista to provide mammograms for people facing access barriers to treatment- the majority of their clients fall well below the poverty level
  • Project Angel Heart-providing customized home delivered fresh meals to the patient and their dependents.

We are under the umbrella of the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Foundation, an accredited 501(c)(3).
